TONI MILANO THE WARRIOR PARALYMPIC ATHLETE
PROFESSIONAL WHEELCHAIR RACER
Toni Milano was a successful cyclist with an impressive career in professional cycling. Then, something happened: he got ill and had to give up racing. And yet, he never surrendered: he rose to the challenge and reinvented himself as a professional trainer, becoming a role model and leader for the young… and so much more, as you can read in his bio (link).
Promoting sports as a learning ground for life’s skills and values has become Toni’s prime motivator and his main challenge. This year, Toni was officially recognized as a para-athlete by FISPES (Federazione Italiana Sport Paraolimpici e Sperimentali), yet another proud achievement in his life after the illness. Toni and his staff of professionals are committed to a specific work methodology based on the continuous exchange of points of view and experiences, with the aim to grow together both as sportspeople and as human beings.
With the help of state-of-the-art equipment, Toni’s staff work every day not only to create innovative solutions that help prevent injuries and enhance the performance and health of paralympic athletes, but also to gather medical and scientific data to improve diagnostics. Toni Milano, thanks to his signature optimism and grit, has become a guiding light for many young people whose lives are closely intertwined with sports and health.
Toni’s disability is the result not of an accident, but of a physical illness. And yet, by working hard to transform a negative situation into something positive, he has managed to turn the cruel hand he was dealt into a winning streak. Thanks to this experience, Toni has grown to learn how to be a role model and a true leader by supporting those who have been even less fortunate than he and helping them forge and follow a new life path, showing the way with enthusiasm and optimism. This is how Toni’s life journey has become a source of hope and inspiration for those who have found themselves in the same situation.
